Chilean President Recognizes SEI's Technical Solar PV Training Efforts in Atacama, Chile

Solar Energy International's (SEI) Spanish Program has officially concluded it's most recent training program in Atacama, Chile. Chilean President, Michelle Bachelet, US Ambassador to Chile,  Michael Hammer, Ministry of Energy Máximo Pacheco, Senator Isabel Allende, First Solar's Chief Commercial Officer, Joseph Kishkill, and many other representatives from the private and public sector attended First Solar's inauguration of what will become Latin America's largest PV plant to be build in Chile's Atacama Desert.

My name is Michael Mazotti and I am currently a Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Perú. I took classes at SEI in 2011 and received an International and Developing World Applications Certificate through SEI's Solar Professionals Certificate Program. Working with renewable energy as side projects during my service has kept me excited and well active during my 2 years of service. I have been the leading solar power expert in Peace Corps Perú and have installed various systems, taught at workshops, and have been a major source of information for other volunteers and organizations.

That's right, the deadline to submit proposals for the 2017 National Electrical Code is rapidly approaching. As of this writing, around a quarter of the states have adopted the 2014 NEC; the majority are still on 2011 - though that number is continually shrinking - along with a few lingerers stuck on 2008.

SEI Welcomes Americorps VISTAs to Coordinate the Delta County Community Revitalization Through Solar Program

Hello, SEI virtual family! I'm Kristen O'Brien, the first of two Americorps VISTAs to be hired by SEI to coordinate the Delta County Community Revitalization Through Solar Program. Heather Andrews Scholarship Opens Doors for Future Women Solar Pros

In 2012, SEI established the Heather Andrews Scholarship Fund to support women's solar training. Heather was a SEI alumna and solar champion who passed away Feb. 8, 2012, after complications from brain surgery. This scholarship supports female SEI students pursuing hands-on training at our Paonia PV Lab in the charming town nestled in the Rocky Mountains Heather held close to her heart.  It also supports female SEI students with partial tuition scholarships for the womens only PVOL101 Online course.

SEI Partners with Native American Sustainable Housing Initiative (NASHI)

Solar Energy International (SEI) in partnership with NASHI recently completed a 5-day solar electric grid-tie training and installation project on Pine Ridge reservation in South Dakota.

Scott Oman’s fascination with renewable energy began during a childhood tour of Hoover Dam with his father and was further stoked by the concepts of conservation and environmental stewardship instilled in him as a Boy Scout.

Solar Sisters Unite! SEI Offers Women's Only PV101 Online - August 18th

According to the 2013 National Solar Jobs Census the future is bright for the solar industry indeed:

"With the expected addition of over 22,200 new solar workers over the next year, employment in the solar industry is expected to grow by 15.6% during a period in which employment in the overall economy is expected to grow by only 1.4%."
