At Solar Energy International, we often hear from alumni who want to know what training they should take next. We recommend branching out to the various related and relevant training opportunities SEI has to offer.

Do you have previous solar energy training? Have you ever wondered how your solar skills fit into the bigger picture of building energy and design, or even beyond borders in the developing world? Solar Energy International has the answer in our Green Building Design & Construction - Online course, starting Sept. 27. This course shows how efficiency, sustainable building design, and RE technologies such as solar electricity come together. For job seekers, this training shows potential employers that you see the full home/building as a system and have a 360-degree view of how renewables can help home and business owners.

A 360-degree view of the building sciences world

You can expand your building sciences knowledge base and solar skill sets to share with clients and customers in Green Building Design & Construction. For those possibly pursuing Building Performance Institute (BPI) certification or the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) training and testing, this course helps tremendously for preparation.
"This online experience is a great starter course for anyone interested in entering the green building field, such as HERS raters, LEED for Homes green raters, etc.," says Erica Sparhawk, Clean Energy Economy for the Regionprogram manager. "It is also great for homeowners or those interested in buying, renovating or building a sustainable home."

Solar skills needed around the world

Renewable energy technologies are solutions to problems in education, health care, agriculture, and micro-enterprise faced in the developing world. Implementing renewable energy projects in rural areas sustainably can make a huge difference in improving, and often saving, lives. If you've always wanted to bring your skills and experience to these communities, our upcoming workshops in Nicaragua and Costa Rica are great ways to add those stand-out training bullet points to your resume. Nothing is more "real world" than helping bring renewable energy to the developing world. This shows your application of technical training as well as an altruistic, globally focused spirit many employers in this industry value.

Green Building Design & Construction online is just two of Solar Energy International's courses featured in our new online campus. Utilizing cost-effective technologies through state-of-the-art online capabilities, SEI can pass on the savings to participants with an affordable $595 online tuition cost for this courses.
