The public is welcome to stop by the SEI office, just off Third Street's Round Room, tour the renovated space, enjoy refreshments, view SEI's new video series, and take part in SEI's donation-driven renewable energy book sale/give-away. A Carbondale Chamber ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 7 p.m.

SEI's renovated Third Street space features locally harvested beetle kill wood, carpet tiles made from recycled content, countertops made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper, natural lighting mixed with compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) and light emitting diodes (LEDs), and monocrystalline solar panels for privacy and decorative accents. Third Street Center previously served as the Carbondale Elementary School before renovation began in 2009 to convert the structure into a community-focused nonprofit center. The mission of the Third Street Center is to promote community through a multitenant, mixed-use facility that models sustainability in its design and practice.

Solar Energy International has offices and hosts in-person workshops in both Carbondale and Paonia, Colorado. The Paonia location features SEI's world-class PV Lab Facility. SEI also offers courses online and workshops for solar training and renewable energy education in a variety of U.S. and international locations. View the 2012 SEI workshop schedule by clicking here.

Solar Energy International welcomes visitors in its new Third Street office Mon-Fri, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call (970) 963-8855 with questions, or visit for more information.
