Solar training with Solar Energy International in Rocklin, California

Solar Energy International is helping those interested in jump-starting their careers in the solar industry with three in-person workshops in Rocklin, California.
PV101: Solar Electric Design and Installation provides hands-on training with the industry's most experienced instructors within the environment of a top-notch solar industry training facility.In March, Solar Energy International hosts a solar training workshop at SMA America's state-of-the-art training center. This course introduces participants to solar PV systems to help develop green careers in 2011.
PV101: Solar Electric Design and Installation, March 14-18, provide hands-on training with the industry's most experienced instructors within the environment of a top-notch solar industry training facility. The SMA training center has a photovoltaics (PV) simulator and an inverter laboratory featuring working Sunny Boy inverters as well as communication and monitoring systems. Meanwhile, the lab boasts a full Sunny Island off-grid system, complete with six Sunny Island inverters, generator and battery bank. There are also working Sunny Boy and Sunny Central inverters and a webcam for live support.

- Solar Training - PV101: Solar Electric Design and Installation (Grid-Direct)
March 14-18, 2011, $995
This course will provide an overview of the three basic PV system applications, primarily focusing on grid-direct systems. The goal of the course is to create a fundamental understanding of the core concepts necessary to work with all PV systems, including: system components, site analysis, PV module criteria, mounting solutions, safety, and commissioning. The course will also cover the basics of sizing a residential grid-direct system, wire sizing, overcurrent protection, and grounding - all of which will be expanded upon in Solar Energy International's PV202 course.
