A Solar Training Week in Chile
Programa Hispano at Solar Energy International (SEI) is a rapidly growing program with a continually expanding network of students from all across the globe. We started off strong in 2016, having already trained over 100 students in México City and Costa Rica. More trainings are scheduled in February and March that train an additional 100 students, this time in the small city of Copiapó, Chile. A large network of SEI alumni is being created, and we hope you will become a part of this unique social and professional networking community! PV201L: Solar Training – Solar Electric Lab Week (Grid-Direct)
April 25th – SEI’s Paonia, Colorado Training Facility
Put the classroom theory into practice with the ultimate hands-on PV experience available! This five day lab class offers students the opportunity to work closely with experienced PV professionals. You will gain valuable insight and experience while installing and commissioning multiple PV systems consisting of modules, inverters, and racking components from a wide range of manufacturers that are all big players in the PV industry. A low student-to-instructor ratio and the world-class lab facility at SEI’s home base in Paonia, Colorado combine to make PV201L the perfect environment for your first hands-on PV experience.
Over the past couple of months, we have offered this 3-day mobile lab class in Fort Carson, CO for the Solar Ready Vets program; in San Francisco, CA for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission; in Mesa, AZ for the Salt River Project; and in Phoenix, AZ for Arizona Public Service. This course pairs classroom presentations with hands-on learning and troubleshooting systems.
Joe Villacci, PV Curriculum Developer and Instructor regularly teaches PV351L and says “It’s been great to work with students to take it to the next level in this course! Operations and maintenance work requires a complex understanding of the PV system. Problem solving skills are critical as we safely troubleshoot and diagnose issues on real-world systems. As we apply modern performance verification techniques along with hands on use of the latest tools and metering equipment, we are finding that experienced solar veterans, field technicians, electricians, and utility engineers all can benefit from the challenge of this course!”
Students agree; one student commented that “The content presented in the labs was very helpful and reinforced experimental results with the classroom learning.”
Are you ready to take your training and knowledge to the next level? SEI will be offering PV351L throughout 2016 at our training facility in Paonia, CO, and at Central Carolina Community College in Chatham, NC. Check out the training schedule!
We keep these classes small with a 1:5 student-teacher ratio to maximize your time with the tools and equipment. Reserve your spot today!
