Solar Energy International’s (SEI) Professional Services mission is to provide a world-class resource for consulting, development, design, field services, and operations and maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) systems.  
SEI and its team of industry veterans bring together decades of leadership and experience in the global solar industry, and SEI is the most trusted name for quality technical expertise. Drawing from a core group of SEI staff and contractors with over 150 years of cumulative experience and various areas of PV expertise, SEI Professional Services is able to provide industry-leading assistance for all types of PV projects around the world.

Construction Phase Consulting
Utilize SEI’s expertise in project management and quality control and assurance, based on industry best practice and relevant Codes and Standards, to ensure a top quality PV installation.

  • Initial and on-going consultation with Construction Contractor on design implementation and construction issues
  • On-site quality control (QC) inspections with inspection reports at agreed upon progress intervals
  • Final on-site acceptance inspection report and final punch-list

Commissioning
Detailed commissioning is critical to system performance.  SEI can provide third-party commissioning services on a variety of levels, or can review contractor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and find anomalies that may be present.

  • Final commissioning and documentation
  • Performance and energy testing of system
  • IV curve tracing and analysis
  • Creation of or verification of as-built drawings
  • Third-party inspections and review of Construction Contractor documentation

Operations, Maintenance, and Training
Ongoing support, preventative maintenance, and, when necessary, reactive maintenance are critical for ensuring system reliability and return on investment.  SEI provides a range of services raging from onsite, to remote analysis, to training of company personnel.

  • Remote support and data analysis
  • Development of operations manuals and maintenance checklists
  • Optional training workshop for on-site maintenance personnel or send maintenance personnel to regularly scheduled SEI workshop(s)
  • In-person inspection at first anniversary of final commissioning
  • Performance review at first anniversary of final commissioning
  • Perform or arrange for required maintenance as per manufacturer specifications in order to meet product warranty requirements

Brian Brian Mehalic
Brian has a wide range of PV industry experience spanning 14+ years. He has participated in the design and installation of over 200 systems of varying size. Most recently, Brian’s work as a project engineer has included site assessment, production modeling, preliminary system design and design review, EPC selection, installation oversight, and construction and final inspections of PV systems. B.A., Northwestern University.
David David Del Vecchio
David has 16+ years of experience in the PV field with a recent focus on over 250 MW of utility scale systems, including project quality control, design and engineered drawings, construction oversight and system commissioning. B.S., Georgia Institute of Technology.

J.R. J.R. Whitley
J.R. delivers extensive experience in commercial and utility scale PV system consulting, including commissioning and third party verification, operations and maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, design review, and system optimization. B.S., Appalachian State University.

Jay Jay Peltz
Jay brings 20+ years of photovoltaic design and installation experience with a specialty in off-grid systems in the U.S. and all over the world. B.A., Humboldt State University.

Joe has a long history of designing and installing PV systems as well as consulting services including performance verification, operations & maintenance, and troubleshooting & repair. B.S., Salisbury University.

Kris Kris Sutton
SEI’s Technical Director, Kris has over 4,000 hours of instructing and training on PV systems. He also brings 14+ years of field experience including system design, installation and project management. A.D. Electrical Technology, Southeast Community College.

Kyle Kyle Bolger
For 12+ years Kyle has worked in a variety of PV related positions including project management, design consulting, installation supervision and, most recently, quality assurance inspections. In addition, he has over 3,000 hours of classroom instruction with SEI.

Rebekah Rebekah Hren
Rebekah brings 15+ years of renewable energy industry experience, most recently involving design oversight, equipment specifications, plan review, quality assurance and construction inspections, and ongoing operations and maintenance activity coordination for utility scale systems. Tom Tom Munson
Tom has 28 years of engineering and construction experience with 13 years specializing in the solar industry. Tom specializes in the drafting and modeling of PV systems, including layout and shading analysis. B.S., New Mexico State University.
