Renewable Energy Youth Camp
August 4-8, 2003 Paonia, Colorado
Last year, participants from around the world made our 2nd Annual Youth
Renewable Energy Camp absolutely inspiring. SEI would like to thank
all those who helped make it happen. We need your support to make it
even better this year! Please let us know if you can help!
|
Participants come to the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains to learn
about Solar, Wind, Water Power and Alternative Building!
Meet Renewable Energy Professionals and learn about career options!
Activities include:
- Renewable Energy instruction
- Mentorship with renewable energy experts
- Building solar race cars and solar ovens
- Tours of solar homes
- River rafting, camping and hiking
SEI's Youth Renewable Energy Camp is designed to teach youth aged 15 -
19 about Solar, Wind and Water Power and Alternative Building in
conjunction with conservation and efficiency. Our goal is for
students to put energy use in context and come away with tools and
solutions for our current energy dilemna.
Another aspect of the camp is social. We bring youth from different
tribes and corners of the world together. We do trust-building games
and have fun outings with camp fires, storytelling and more.
This program is targeted towards minorities, Native Americans, young
women and individuals who are economically disadvantaged. If you are
- between the ages of 15 - 19
- a member of one or more of the above groups
- concerned about the environment and/or
- looking for a start towards a sustainable career and/or
- enthusiastic about spending a week camping in the Colorado rockies
with your peers while learning about Renewable Energy...
