Home Power to add Green Building Articles

SEI has teamed up with Home Power magazine, to provide green building articles on a regular basis. Home Power magazine, the leading resource for renewable energy information, will now be adding a focus on natural construction. The first article, "From the Ground Up: A Primer for Natural House Building" co-written by Rachel Ware and Laurie Stone of SEI, appeared in the Feb/March 2004 issue. To see the article visit Home Power's website.

Women in Solar Award

The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is now offering an award for women who have contributed significantly to the acceptance and advancement of women in solar. The winner of the first award will be recognized at the ASES annual solar energy conference in Portland, Oregon in July. If you know a woman who is a mover, shaker, and/or promoter of solar energy, nominate her for the award by clicking here.

Volunteer in the Philippines!

SEI's INVEST program connects alumni of our renewable energy education program with appropriate volunteer opportunities overseas. One of our INVEST partners, Bias City in the Philippines, is currently in need of volunteers to help out on some amazing renewable energy projects. Bais city has projects in solar water pumping, micro-hdyro systems, biogas, and solar cooking and food drying. Food and beautiful accomodations are provided for volunteers. For more information on volunteering click here.

SEI New Membership Benefit!

New members of SEI now have the option of a one-year subscription to E magazine or the historic one-year subscription to Home Power magazine. E magazine covers everything environmental, from recycling to rainforests, and from the "personal to the political". It is a clearinghouse of information, news and resources for people concerned about the environment who want to know "What can I do to make a difference?" E reports on all the key issues: water and air quality, climate change, endangered wildlife, the state of our oceans and fisheries, and population growth impacts, all with contact information so people can plug into efforts to turn the tide.
