SEI's
hometown of Carbondale, Colorado recently switched over to biodiesel for
use in its heavy equipment and other diesel-engine vehicles. It’s part
of a growing trend in the Roaring Fork Valley, as other big-name entities
such as the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, the Aspen Ski Company
and Colorado Rocky Mountain School have begun using biodiesel over the last
year.
Thanks in large part to SEI staff member and founder of the local
biodiesel cooperative, Soozie Freidmar, Carbondale is using a 20 percent,
or B-20, biodiesel blend.

ANWR Under Attack
The
Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is once again under threat of being drilled
for oil. Congressional leaders are pushing for a quick vote that would turn
America's greatest sanctuary for Arctic wildlife into a vast, polluted oil
field. Even worse, they are planning to avoid public debate on this devastating
measure by hiding it in a must-pass budget bill.
If you would like to send
a message to congress to reject this sneak attack on the Arctic National
Wildlife refuge visit the Biogems website at www.biogems.org
