Appropriate Technology in Chiapas, Mexico

Chiapas, Mexico is rich in energy resources, yet the majority of people are poor rural farmers with no access to electricity. Fortunately, there are groups working to change that. SEI is offering a workshop in Chiapas which provides an overview of technologies which promote small scale sustainable energy and resource management systems in the developing world. Participants will install a solar lighting system in a health clinic, and study and tour many other appropriate technologies. The workshop will be taught in both English and Spanish, and is held in conjunction with the International Renewable Resources Institute (IRRI) and Edupaz, a local educational organization devoted to promoting peace through ecology, equity, and justice.

SEI EcoCampus Appreciation

SEI has completed part of our PV Lab Yard on our Paonia campus. The lab yard consists of 3 systems, a ground mounted array, a roof mounted array, and a pole mounted system. Students receive hands-on training on each component of the systems. This fantastic learning experience would never have come about without the help of our generous equipment donors.
