About Vincent
As a Safety & Quality Coach for SolarCity, I am responsible for observing work, both completed and in-process, and ensuring work environments are in compliance with SolarCity Safety and Quality policies. I report directly to the Area Safety Manager to whom I convey the results of job site audits, accident/incident investigations and develop innovative solutions to new risks. Safety & Quality Coaches are responsible for coaching field operations team members to exhibit processes and behaviors that create a safe work environment and a quality work product.

The SEI experience and military transition
Due to the intensive 140 hour training that was provided through Solar energy International’s course and the military discipline gained through my years of service in the United States Marine Corps I have been able to transition well into the civilian world.

After 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, I became a civilian employee. Making the transition to the informal environment of civilian work after the constant drill of military formality and discipline was not that difficult. SolarCity embodies the same core values of Honor Courage and Commitment in everything that they do.

In my transition I have learned that the military has handed me the keys to success in this world. Jobs will come and employers value our work ethic, enthusiasm and attention to detail. I have settled on the company that I want to grow with and am committed to put forth the same dedication in the civilian world as I did with in the military. SolarCity genuinely cares about their employees and their professional development.

I will never forget the times that we had as the pilot class for this program. I sing the praises of Solar Energy International throughout the solar and military communities. I cannot say enough good things about their instructors, materials and course work given to us. The intensive 140 hour training among the numerous courses that Solar Energy International provides are more than enough to prepare you for a position within the solar industry from installation, sight survey to safety. I highly recommend that this program be offered nationwide and abroad to all transitioning service members to better prepare them to enter the civilian work force and especially the renewable energy market.
