Rebekah has been an SEI instructor since 2007. She is a licensed electrician, NABCEP Board Member and certified PV Installation Professional. For the past two Code cycles Rebekah has been a principal voting member of Code-Making Panel 4 of the National Electrical Code (NEC), representing SEI. CMP-4 is the panel responsible for Articles 690 and 705. A North Carolina native, her first experience with renewable energy was in 1996 when she started construction of her off-grid passive solar cob house. She transitioned full time to the solar industry in 2005, and until 2009 worked on design and installation of residential grid-tied, battery-backup, and solar thermal systems at Honey Electric Solar. In 2009 she went to work for large-scale project developer O2 EMC and was responsible for design oversight, maintenance, and quality control inspections for utility scale PV systems in North Carolina ranging from 1 to 20 megawatts. From 2019 through 2022, Rebekah worked as a solar and electrical engineer in an R&D division at Airbnb.
