About SEI

Colorado Rocky Mountain School, Carbondale, CO

This workshop is being held at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) in Carbondale, CO. This inspiring campus is just minutes away from the SEI Carbondale office, downtown Carbondale, and world class rivers, mountain biking, and hiking.

There is a lodging/meal plan available for TBA (to be announced). Please contact SEI to register for lodging and meal plan.

Lodging Availablity:

Available Sunday evening (June 22) through Thursday evening (June 26).
Check out is by 2pm on Friday.

Food Meal Plan:

The meal plan covers breakfast, lunch, and dinner starting with breakfast on Monday (June 23) and ending with lunch on Thursday (June 26th).

Food and Lodging detail:

Meals: The food provided by CRMS is a delicious, well rounded fare that accommodates all eating preferences. Please let us know if you have any special dietary need or allergies to ensure a wonderful culinary experience for everyone. During the summer months, CRMS often uses fresh vegetables from their organic garden.

Lodging Overview: The lodging is located on campus in the CRMS dormitories. All of the dorm rooms are two-person, and CRMS will provide linens, towels, and light housekeeping on a daily basis. All dorms have shared bathrooms and a common living space.

Lodging limitations: Particluar care must be taken with the water hazards that are on campus, specifically the irrigation ditches, ponds, and rivers - children near these areas must be supervised at all times. There are no laundry facilities on campus (but there is a Laundromat in town). Participants are responsible for their own rooms and living space. No smoking is allowed inside dormitories, classrooms, or other CRMS facilities. Some faculty members live on campus year round. Please respect their privacy.

Why sign up for the Lodging/meal plan?

  1. Our goal is to create a culture of inclusivity. Sharing meals and living space will help us find the time to get to know each other and share ideas and stories. Even if you live close by, we encourage you to take a week away from home and join us in Carbondale.
  2. The CRMS campus in and of itself is a beautiful campus that is an inspiring setting in which to live and learn.
  3. The CRMS campus is 2 miles out of town. We want to limit the amount of driving to and from the workshop every day. With that said, think about bringing, renting, or borrowing a bicycle for the week!
  4. We have a lot of information to cover in a short time frame. By having the participants stay close to the classroom, we can be more efficient with time management.
  5. You won't find a better deal anywhere else in town!

What to Bring
For the classroom portion of the workshop you may want to have a calculator, a pen or pencil, and paper for notes. Colorado weather this time of year is typically hot summer temperatures and relatively dry. Be prepared for cooler evening weather and rain, however. Since we will be doing outdoor labs during the week, we recommend that you bring a hat, raingear, sunscreen and a water bottle. Also remember to bring appropriate clothing to take advantage of all of the recreational activities in the area.
