When you register for workshops in Olivebridge, you must pay either a $375 fee which covers lodging and food (Monday breakfast through Friday lunch), or a $150 commuter fee (which includes 5 days of lunches and a continental breakfast on Monday) if you choose to lodge elsewhere. Tucked away in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York and only ten miles west of Kingston (or 100 miles north of New York City), the Ashokan Field Campus is an outdoor/environmental education center. Its 372 secluded acres of glistening natural beauty lie adjacent to the Ashokan Reservoir and the wilderness areas of the Catskill Forest Preserve. Participants staying at Ashokan will have ample opportunity for informal outdoor recreation and casual evening socializing.
Class Details:
Class will run from approximately 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day of class. Please plan to arrive at the classroom no later than 8:45 on the first day so that the instructors can check you into the class. Lunch will be from approximately 12:30-1:30 pm each day, in addition to a short morning and afternoon break.
The Grid-Tied PV workshop will have four days of classroom lecture
and one day of tours and hands-on, mock-installation labs.

Bus Stations: There is a Greyhound Station at 60 Route 17K, Newburgh, NY, which is approximately 31 miles from the classroom.
Train Stations: There is also an Amtrak Station at Hutton & Charles, Red Hook, NY, which is approximately 15 miles from the classroom.
Nearby Lodging
Ashokan requires that participants either register for the full lodging package or a commuter package. They offer bunkhouse lodging with modern facilities, which are separate for men and women. (For photos, please see the Ashokan website. Ashokan provides pillows and blankets but participants must bring sheets and/or a sleeping bag, pillowcases, and a towel. In addition, they have a sauna that’s great after a long day in the classroom.
If you prefer not to sleep in a dorm setting , then you may want to consider tent camping, as Ashokan has a campground. However, this would be the same full lodging price. (RVs are not permitted.)
With the full lodging package, participants can check-in Sunday afternoon, April 6. There is no evening meal available on this night. Checkout is on Friday after the workshop.
The following considerations will help make your stay enjoyable, healthy and safe for participants who lodge at the Camp
· Participants will need sheets or a sleeping bag, pillowcases, towels, toiletries, a flash light, and warm clothes for the cooler weather. Blankets and pillows are provided.
· Participants may drive to the bunkhouse area to unload cars. Cars must then be moved to the upper parking lot.
· No dogs are allowed on site
· Participants may not bring alcoholic beverages or illegal substances onto the campus. Illegal activities, weapons and pets are not permitted
If you prefer to lodge elsewhere or are commuting from your home, the commuter fee is $150, which includes a continental breakfast the first day (only), 5 lunches, unlimited beverages, and fruit bowl
Food:
The full $375 lodging package includes wonderful buffet-style meals with unlimited beverages, fruit bowls, and delicious evening snacks. The meal plan starts with breakfast Monday, April 7, through lunch on Friday, April 11.
Meal times are as follows:
Breakfast at 8:30-9:00 am
Lunch at 12:30-1:30pm
Dinner at 5:30 pm
Your first meal will be Monday continental breakfast at 8:00 AM (Monday only - full breakfast all other days), and your final meal will be Friday lunch.
Ashokan's Food Service accommodates special requests. If you are a vegetarian or have specific dietary needs, please make arrangements through SEI. We will coordinate your requests with Ashokan.
Weather: The weather in Olivebridge in early April should be in the 50s during the day and then drop into the 30s at night. For a more detailed look at the weather, go to weather.com.
