Software

Participants must have a Java-capable web browser such as Netscape Navigator 3.0, MS Internet Explorer 3.0, or later versions, a current e-mail account and internet access with an Internet Service Provider. To read PDF files you will need to download Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available on the site, on the Solar1 CD-ROM, or through Adobe.

Hardware

• A minimum of 4 MB free RAM (8 MB preferred)
• Monitor set to 256 colors
• CD-ROM (only required for using the Home Power CDs)
• Modem (14,400 or faster)

IBM Compatible Users

• Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 3.1
• Intel 80486 or Pentium Processor

Macintosh Users

• Apple Macintosh operating system (7.1 or later)
• Motorola 68040/PowerPC processor
