This month, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) released their Annual Review 2014 outlining the important role that renewables play in employment creation and growth in the global economy.
The report shows that in 2013 approximately 6.5 million people were employed in the renewable energy industry worldwide.

SEI / ECPA Project Draws to a Conclusion
The Academia de Profesionales Solares de las Americas (APSA) was a Project of Solar Energy International (SEI), funded by the Energy & Climate Partnership of the Americas through the United States State Department.
APSA boasts a plethora of success stories. Its biggest impact is without any doubt the high number of solar PV systems deployed in homes and businesses across Central America and Mexico. In less than six months, program trainees installed more than 500 kilowatts of small solar systems in over 80 individual projects. This number is expected to reach as much as 2,000 kilowatts in over 100 projects by the end of 2014.

Charlie has taken his knowledge and training from SEI to expand his company Ecology Solar. Ecology Solar is a solar photovoltaic engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business serving commercial and residential clients in the greater Denver metro area.
Ecology Solar provides economically-sound and ecologically-friendly solar PV systems by sourcing components from reputable companies that provide reliable products manufactured using economically and environmentally sustainable practices. The company also provides remote energy monitoring and maintenance services.

Inspector Training in New York – June 5th
SH202 – Inspecting Solar Heating Systems in New York State is a full day, in-person course geared towards code officials in New York and is approved by the Department of State, Division of Building Standards and Codes for six (6) CEU's.
Course participants will review and discuss code requirements and industry standards for solar water heating (SWH) systems. Content of the course will include an overview of SWH systems; industry certifications and standards for design and installation; local code requirements related to SWH systems; and procedures for inspecting SWH installations.
