SEI Remembers a True Solar Champion
Pat Fox of IREC
Our hearts go out to the family and family of Pat Fox of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC). Pat recently passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Pat was a true champion of the solar industry and was passionate about quality installations, training and policy. The light of your life continues to shine, Pat. Much love and light from your friends in Colorado.

SEI’s Solar in the Schools Offers Training to Educators in Delta and Montrose Counties On July 8th SIS provided a teachers training to 18 educators from Delta and Montrose County schools to showcase a sampling of hands-on labs and renewable energy technology lessons for K-12 students at our lab facility. This is our second year providing this training as part of our collaborating efforts with the Teaching Environmental Science Naturally (TEN) program.

The TEN program assists teachers in taking their students outdoors for academically powerful field trips and to connect students to their local natural and cultural resources. We’re excited to have all the Delta County 8th grade students come to SEI’s lab September 8-11 to participate in a solar energy lab day and make that powerful connection with our amazing solar resource!

Advanced Solar Electric Academy 2015

The Madison Area Technical College (MATC) / SEI Advanced Solar Electric Academy was a huge success this week! Students completed a packed week of solar PV hands-on training, focusing on grid-direct systems, battery systems, and small, low-cost systems that can easily be replicated in their classrooms.
“For educators, the process of instructional delivery is excellent: small group instruction, problem solving, questioning method; SEI sets the STANDARD”. Quote from an Advanced Solar Electric Academy Student

U.S. Marines Veteran & Solar City’s Vicente Coronado
Getting my training through SEI has provided me with the knowledge and experience that has allowed me to use my technical skills towards the solar industry for my fast accelerating career within the industry. I would like to say that all the instructors were very knowledgeable and did a great job making us understand all the technical concepts needed to break into this industry.
I am a very hands on person so the practical application was the best part of the training for me. Having all the class work all paid off as soon as we were outside being able to apply what we had learned in class.
I started working with SolarCity March 30th, 2015 as an Apprentice. The knowledge I gained from the SEI training program and my determination has resulted in me being promoted to a Senior Installer all within three months, and I will not stop there. The company I work for has provided me the opportunity to go as far as my determination will take me, so growing is all on the individual and I accept the invitation. – Vicente Coronado

SEI Solar Professionals Certificate Program Taking Applications for Summer / Fall 2015
Do YOU Have What it Takes?
SEI’s Solar Professionals Certificate Program (SPCP) is our most rigorous training program where you will have the opportunity to complete a multi-course track leading towards completing a program of study with SEI.
or call SEI Student Services at: (970) 527-7657 x1
As the solar industry becomes more and more competitive, SEI’s full training program will help you stand apart from the growing number of people who have taken only the bare minimum to sit for NABCEP Certification or who have not received any formal training at all. If you are considering completing a path of training through SPCP in 2015, you will want to apply for admission and scheduling of your prerequisite training as soon as possible in order to complete the program in a timely manner this year.
Program completion is still possible if you start later in the training year, but becomes more and more difficult from a scheduling standpoint due to our full courses. Contact SEI Student Services today to speak to a SPCP advisor or complete the online application today.
