SEI Opens First Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Delta County, Colorado
On June 1, 2015, Solar Energy International (SEI) commissioned the first public electric vehicle (EV) charging station in Delta County, Colorado.
SEI is proud to make our electric vehicle charging station free and open to the public, stated Kathy Swartz, SEIs Executive Director. The energy powering SEIs charging station is 100% solar powered through our state-of-the-art solar training facility.
This EV charging station literally puts Delta County on the map today as an accessible destination for clean, reliable transportation. Historically these efforts have focused on the Front Range or much larger communities. With this charging station, we are able to provide this service to locals and visitors alike, said Pete Mueller, SEIs AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer and author of the grant. Electric vehicle charging stations can be located on www.plugshare.com and on the smartphone app, Alternative Fueling Station Locator, managed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.

These classes bring students together from all across the globe, and are an excellent opportunity to network and meet like-minded professionals. Our classes are always small enough for ample individual attention, but they do fill up fast. So register now!

Congratulations to the Solar Ready Vets – graduating class of June 2015 from Ft. Carson! View photo gallery >>
It was an honor for SEI to lead this training over the last several weeks and attend this month’s graduation ceremony. We hope this program continues to grow, as there are thousands of more active duty military personnel and veterans who could benefit from this trainign program. The skills sets and drive that these veterans have will help ensure that solar energy is the future of our country and our planet!
In our continuing efforts to support current students and alumni from the Solar Ready Vets program, SEI has launched the Solar Ready Vets LinkedIn Group. We will be using this members only group to connect program participants with employers and other industry resources. Alumni from the Solar Ready Vets Program and employers can have access to this private group.

SEI Solar Professionals Certificate Program Taking Applications for Summer / Fall 2015
Do YOU Have What it Takes?
SEI’s Solar Professionals Certificate Program (SPCP) is our most rigorous training program where you will have the opportunity to complete a multi-course track leading towards completing a program of study with SEI.
or call SEI Student Services at: (970) 527-7657 x1
As the solar industry becomes more and more competitive, SEI’s full training program will help you stand apart from the growing number of people who have taken only the bare minimum to sit for NABCEP Certification or who have not received any formal training at all. If you are considering completing a path of training through SPCP in 2015, you will want to apply for admission and scheduling of your prerequisite training as soon as possible in order to complete the program in a timely manner this year.
Program completion is still possible if you start later in the training year, but becomes more and more difficult from a scheduling standpoint due to our full courses. Contact SEI Student Services today to speak to a SPCP advisor or complete the online application today.

SEI Office Manager Chris Smith (Smitty)
Earns Black Belt in Karate!
Congratulations to Chris Smith (Smitty), SEI Office Manager, for earning her black belt in karate this past weekend!
We are all very proud of you! Many of you know her from your time in Paonia as she goes out of her way to help our students.
So if you plan on attending SEI’s hands-on labs this summer, make sure to give Smitty HUGE respect when you see her or you may get a swift karate chop (or the unwanted purple popsicle).
