Paul Ruiz envisions a world powered by renewable energy.

He grew up in an off-grid cabin in the rural mountains of Costa Rica powered by solar and hydropower. He accessed electricity for the essentials only – lighting and refrigeration. He rode wild horses, wrangled cattle, and built things with his hands. As a young adult he sold roses to tourists, guided as a Costa Rican naturalist, and designed environmental subdivisions. With every experience, his connection to people and the environment fueled him.

You can be the change. Paul wholeheartedly believes that we are the change, and that renewable energy is the solution.

That’s why Paul came to SEI in 2014 seeking hands-on training. While he knew solar theory was important, much like his upbringing he needed to “see it, feel it” to truly grasp how to install and maintenance solar electric systems.

Today, Paul has installed over 4 megawatts (4 million watts) of solar electricity. But installing is only the beginning. Paul now teaches as an SEI instructor passing his knowledge to the next generation of solar professionals.

Do you envision a world powered by renewable energy? With your support, SEI will grow its scholarship funds to train more people, like Paul, who need access renewable energy the most.

Join us this Summer Solstice by being 100 for $100. If 100 people invest $100, we can offer 10 full scholarships to students around the world looking to make an impact in their communities.

Can you help us reach our goal?
