Since 1991, SEI has been a leader in solar workforce training. 2024 marked exceptional progress, advancing technical excellence in education and workforce expansion initiatives. Key achievements included a Department of Energy-funded technician training program with Amicus O&M, Department of Defense SkillBridge approval for the Solar Ready Veterans program, and record-breaking support for our scholarship programs. Our successes are made possible by our partners and our community: As we look to 2025 and beyond, the need for SEI’s work has never been greater. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to our mission, the time to act is now.

Meeting the urgent industry need for utility and megawatt scale training.
“{SEI’s Spanish-language training is}… essential to continue working in my community and remote and rural areas of our region, installing solar energy for homes and for vital water needs, and to my professional training with a view to establishing a micro-enterprise to continue helping our communities with access to renewable energy.”

“SEI awarding me a scholarship and my obtaining of the NABCEP PV Professional Certification is the first chapter to my future goals. The scholarship sets in motion my career goals of continuing to learn and being more competitive in the job market. I will also pursue incorporating my military career with my solar background. I want to pass down my solar knowledge. Solar installation, and fundamentals of PV systems is a life skill I can pass down to my children.”
“My upbringing is on the Navajo Reservation…raised by a single mother who instilled in me and my sister the importance of clean energy at a young age. So growing up I knew that my Indigenous culture and teachings align with renewable energy. My goal now is to learn as much as I can on the online courses from SEI and from other local solar warriors on the ground.
