Channa Silva is an international consultant and technical trainer in solar and renewable energy technologies. He has been actively engaged in the renewable energy industry since 2011. He holds a Master of Engineering Science in Solar and Renewable Energy from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, and a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He is also a Certified Expert in Climate and Renewable Energy Finance, accredited by the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, Germany.
Channa Silva has successfully led and contributed to the development and execution of over 1 GW of solar PV projects across Sri Lanka, Australia, Fiji, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East, playing a key role in advancing sustainable energy transitions across diverse markets. His expertise includes project development, technical design, regulatory compliance, grid integration, and the operation and maintenance of solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
A strong advocate for capacity building, Channa Silva has designed and delivered numerous professional training programs and technical workshops, equipping engineers, industry professionals, and policymakers with practical, up to date knowledge in solar PV systems, energy finance, project risk management, operations and maintenance, and project implementation best practices.
With a proven international track record and a deep commitment to sustainability, Channa Silva continues to contribute meaningfully to the global expansion of renewable energy and the development of technical expertise worldwide. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys exploring different cultures and cuisines and traveling the world with his family.
