What do we teach?

SEI teaches renewable energy courses in Solar ElectricSolar ThermalMicro Hydro and Solar Water Pumping. The majority of our training focuses on Solar Electric Systems or Photovoltaics (PV). Our PV training covers Residential and Commercial systems, Grid Direct and Battery-Based/Battery Storage Systems, as well as Operations and Maintenance.

Who are our students?

Students of all different backgrounds take our training courses. Electricians, engineers, homeowners, people just out of high school or college, and those interested in changing to a new and exciting career, all enroll in our training program. There are no prerequisites to get started in our basic level training, although we recommend a high school education or equivalent. There is a lot to know about getting started in the industry, so we highly recommend that you check out these short videos developed by Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) about getting into the industry, solar jobs, skills needed, pathways, training and careers. You can also take SEI’s free RE100: Introduction to Renewable Energy course or RE101: Fundamental Math for Solar Applications course.
