Issaquah, WA., November 16, 2020 – NAES Corporation, one of the energy industry’s largest independent providers of operations, maintenance and repair services, has announced today their partnership with Solar Energy International (SEI) to provide Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician training to NAES employees. The collaboration, a continuation of NAES’ steadfast commitment to safety, integrity and quality of work, will provide professional solar education development to further mature the solar energy workforce.

“NAES is investing in its employees and their futures as our industry shifts to renewable generation,” said Stefanie Padgett, VP of Distributed Infrastructure. “With the help of SEI, NAES intends to lead the labor transition efforts to support decarbonizing our economy.  With more than 2,000 power technicians across the US, NAES is in a unique position to do our part to support the clean energy industry.”

The partnership will provide core training by utilizing SEI’s industry-leading online training resources, including:
PVOL101: Solar Electric Design and Installation (Grid-Direct)
PVOL350: PV Systems – Tools and Techniques for Operations & Maintenance
CE525: Large-Scale Ground-Mounted PV Installation Safety
Students that complete courses will be awarded a Record of Completion and receive approved contact training hours that count towards NABCEP certification, aligning with NAES’ vision of encouraging employees to grow along with the company.

“It is our pleasure to partner with NAES and offer our best-in-class training to their network of well-qualified employees. We hope that many will take advantage of this opportunity and join us in building the global solar energy workforce,” said Chris Turek, Director of Marketing and Communications at SEI.

Those looking to start training right away can begin by enrolling in SEI’s next PVOL101: Solar Electric Design and Installation (Grid-Direct) course, where they will learn PV fundamentals, and gain a solid understanding of various components, system architectures, and applications for PV systems. From there, students can take the other necessary courses required to obtain O&M Technician status. To explore all online and in-person solar training options, visit: www.solarenergy.org
